Heightsafe Systems have teams based around the UK for rapid response when needed. We can re-test and certify eyebolts, window cleaning points, abseil points and cabled safelines, horizontal or vertical lifelines, at short notice and economically. We can whilst on site also carry out a full gutter clean lowering costs for our Clients, by completing annual retests and gutter cleans at the same time.
Heightsafe Systems frequently work in occupied buildings, such as call centres, government offices and financial institutions, so are fully aware, and our staff are briefed, that the quietest and most professional approach must be adopted at all times. Because of the nature of re-testing or indeed installation, of internal fixtures ie eyebolts, there is likely to be some level of noise generated. Following a sie visit to assess working protocol, we can offer out of hours working should this be necessary. You will find our rates extrememly competitive, and the service our technicians deliver. of the highest standard. Please feel free to call or email your enquiry, we are always more than happy to discuss your specific requirements.
GUARDRAIL SYSTEMS
Guardrail is an ideal solution when considering roof safety. Wherever there is a risk of a fall, Heightsafe Systems can provide a collective protective solution. Our free standing guardrail is a mostly maintenance free, apart from a recommended annual check over, and its cost effective. Our guardrail systems are highly versatile and can be adapted to fit most applications including gables and sloping roofs. We can install either as a means of allocated walkway or as single protection barriers. Safe access for fire escape and maintenance form a large part of our installations. At Heightsafe Systems we design, supply and install guardrail systems, fixed and caged ladders, eyebolts, walkways and Heightsafe safety lines. We can offer you a free site assessment and advice on the most practical and economic solution to best match your risk. Our experienced and highly dedicated team of installers are fully trained in all aspects of working at height safety, and have completed projects from North to South of England. Completely free standing. This means no penetration through existing membranes, ensuring ‘watertightness’.
HORIZONTAL LINES
Heightsafe Systems Horizontal Safety Lines consist of pass through technology. They are easy to install with minimal components. We supply robust and well engineered systems with all stainless steel components. Our fall protection cable systems provide the end user with complete and continual hands free protection, for the whole length of the lifeline. The device which attaches the user to the system simply glides over brackets without the need to detach from the system. Absorptive technology is incorporated into all our lifeline systems so that in the event of a fall, the intermediate brackets deform, reducing the shock load on both the operator and the building structure.
SKYLIGHT COVERS
Skylights can be domed or flat and are generally made from moulded acrylic or corrugated fibreglass. Flat translucent skylights appear as roof patches or often hide under dirt, debris, or snow and are very rarely inspected. Newer skylights can usually withstand impacts, but ultraviolet rays and weather weaken and embrittle the plastic over time. Accidents have happened when people have sat on a skylight, fallen onto it, or unintentionally walked on it, and this has often been whilst carrying out routine maintenance on roofs and barns. Legislation will soon state “every skylight, floor opening and hole shall be guarded by a standard skylight screen or a fixed standard railing on all exposed sides.” These screens should be grills or slats capable of holding at least 200 pounds without deflecting enough to break the skylight. At Heightsafe Systems we make special provisions for areas where a person may be in danger of falling through a skylight or rooflight. In such cases, a fixed railing must surround the opening or it must be covered with a screen that can hold a 200-pound person. Accidents of this nature could be prevented if employers and property owners followed guidelines and installed skylight screens or covers, or provided a fixed railing to keep people away.
Roof & Gutter Maintenance
Heightsafe Systems carry out regular maintenance contracts to rainwater systems, usually annually to coincide with either Fall Arrest & Working at Height testing, or as a stand along service Contract to include cleaning, repairing and replacement where necessary. We are experts in the cleaning and maintenance of commercial guttering. We offer full national UK coverage and can employ various methods to clean commercial gutters whilst already working on the roof of your building. Dependant on the type of guttering, the severity of blockages and safe access around the building, our Working at Height specialists will find the best method to clear your guttering in the most cost effective manner. Cleaner, clearer gutters prevent damage to roof’s and structures. Whilst installing and re-testing, cabled fall arrest systems, guardrail and edge protection systems, we often encounter gutters which have not been cleaned for a long period of time and where powered access to the gutter line is necessary in order to clear all debris effectively. In order make maximum cost effectiveness; please let us know if you require either general roof maintenance or gutter maintenance / cleaning at the same time as inspection or installation of your Working at Height systems.
